RICARDO VACA
Born in California, Ricardo Vaca (b. 1974) Demonstrates his body of work as a sustained emphasis on a multicultural respect & exchange of traditional existence, momentary and story. Vaca's work conveys framed episodes of layered descriptions of human existence, complex and literal, adorned with protest, devotion and peripheral distraction.
Vaca began painting at a young age and continued throughout his teenage years, he attended University in 1993 studying graphic design and digital art. After dropping out in 1995 to pursue independent studies in Mexico, it was then that Vaca had began working with plaster as a base for his artwork which had a drastic effect on the reaction of mediums used previously. His experimentation with media and method had exposed him to a local artist Eduardo Pina whom invited Vaca to participate in a private group exhibition in Mexico where Vaca showed with artists from all over Latin America. In 2016 he joined a group exhibition in Spain which was shortly followed by his first solo show Asaltas Y Rastras. Upon returning back to the states, Vaca has appeared regularly in galleries throughout Mexico.
